BYOB (Bring Your Own Bike) is a participatory cycling performance series that explores polluted weather as a collective, embodied phenomenon. Participants pedal through polluted industrial areas on their own bikes, weatheringWeathering is used here in the sense developed by feminist theorist Astrida Neimanis, describing how bodies are never separate from climate but continuously shaped, worn, and altered by the atmospheric conditions they move through, an ongoing exchange between body and weather rather than a one-way exposure. together under the guidance of the artist.

A bike is not merely a medium here. It is a speculative tool that turns the body into a sensing instrument, tuned to headwind, exhaust, the smell of oil rising off water. Each stroke of the pedal is a small negotiation with the air itself, a communal practice at the intersection of environment, socio-political climate, and the human body.

The performance has taken place across industrial sites in Europe and South Korea, ports, refineries, energy infrastructures, each ride shaped by the uneven atmosphere and politics of its location: who breathes what, and where, and who is even allowed to get close enough to ask.
